First of all: a kinkmeme!!! It's been too long since I've participated in one of these!

So I'm pretty new to the AR fandom and I was wondering where the fandom is mainly located these days (especially for people interested in that delicious Alex and Yassen dynamic)? Tumblr seems fairly quiet but I'm not sure if that's just because the AR fandom is a small one or if the main fandom activity is happening in other places. I've been pretty out of the loop with fandom stuff ever since Twitter started growing as a fandom platform...

Also, I'm totally in it for the Alex/Yassen too, although I might acquire new ships as I continue watching the TV series.
Do you like your Alex/Yassen when Alex is still underage or when he's grown up?

I don't think I have particular preference for the ship dynamics (tho I admit one of my favourite things about them is the experience/power gap which exists whether Alex is of age or not). I could definitely see Yassen preferring to wait, but mostly because he'd like Alex to have a chance to find his feet in the world of spying first without the additional complication of a relationship and mellow out a bit (Alex may be an exception to a lot of Yassen's rules, but Yassen still isn't particularly keen to deal with sulky teenagers and angry fits).

That said, if Alex comes to him with a suitably tempting offer, I think Yassen might go ahead with it regardless of age. That's just the sort of thing that happens when a person deliberately tries to crush their moral compass...

What about you? Any preferences/prompts you're hoping to see?

Yes, the experience/power gap is fantastic with these two. I like a lot of dirtybadwrong stuff like consent issues and the hero/villain thing where you're not sure if Yassen is Alex's enemy or ally, so the underage thing is just one more thing to add for me. But I do like the whole setting of 'teenager being in an adult world' so fics are more interesting when they take place during that time.
Yeah I totally agree, I could see it either way.

Hmm, I think there's a lot of potential for undercover related things with this fandom, so that would be cool as an incentive for Alex/Yassen to happen. But I'd also like to just throw some tropes at the ship like deaging, time travel, amnesia etc. and just see what happens!
I'm also up for gen Alex & Yassen stuff too, especially stuff where Yassen has to protect Alex and Alex is suspicious.

alexriderisasockdrawer is probably one of the main blogs to follow (staying up to date and all) but while there are other socks who have blogs on Tumblr, they aren't really as active so idk.

For those who have read the books/watched the movie - what did you like and what did you dislike about this adaptation?

I think pretty much the only thing I disliked was that MI6 were a shady, extra-legal organisation in this version. The scariest thing about the books was how Alex's abuse was 100% official. Show me that boring, bureaucratic villainy!

The thing I liked most was how they included Alex's friends and gave him students at Point Blanc to cooperate with. Alex in the books is so painfully lonely, and as we go novel after novel with every character he teams up with either failing him or being separated from him by circumstances, it starts to feel really cruel. James, Laura and Kyra were so instantly likeable, James really captured the essence of what I liked about the book character and Kyra was fantastic at driving the plot and feeling like an agent, not just a love interest for Alex. In a novel Alex can work alone and tell the audience what we need to know via his inner narration, but I don't think a TV show would have sustained as well without that supporting cast.

The only servers I'm aware of are the 18+ Alex Rider one mentioned above and Cub's Army, which has a lot of kids and so you can't really discuss kinky stuff there.
