Do you like your Alex/Yassen when Alex is still underage or when he's grown up?

Date: 2020-06-19 03:35 am (UTC)I don't think I have particular preference for the ship dynamics (tho I admit one of my favourite things about them is the experience/power gap which exists whether Alex is of age or not). I could definitely see Yassen preferring to wait, but mostly because he'd like Alex to have a chance to find his feet in the world of spying first without the additional complication of a relationship and mellow out a bit (Alex may be an exception to a lot of Yassen's rules, but Yassen still isn't particularly keen to deal with sulky teenagers and angry fits).
That said, if Alex comes to him with a suitably tempting offer, I think Yassen might go ahead with it regardless of age. That's just the sort of thing that happens when a person deliberately tries to crush their moral compass...
What about you? Any preferences/prompts you're hoping to see?

I like a lot of dirtybadwrong stuff like consent issues and the hero/villain thing where you're not sure if Yassen is Alex's enemy or ally, so the underage thing is just one more thing to add for me. But I do like the whole setting of 'teenager being in an adult world' so fics are more interesting when they take place during that time.
Yeah I totally agree, I could see it either way.
Hmm, I think there's a lot of potential for undercover related things with this fandom, so that would be cool as an incentive for Alex/Yassen to happen. But I'd also like to just throw some tropes at the ship like deaging, time travel, amnesia etc. and just see what happens!
I'm also up for gen Alex & Yassen stuff too, especially stuff where Yassen has to protect Alex and Alex is suspicious.
